發問:
250 cm^3 of a mixture of ozone and oxygen measured at 30*C and 760mmHg are converted into oxygen by heating. If the total gaseous volume after heating is found to be 300cm^3 measured at 35*C and 752mmHg, what is the percentage by volume of ozone in the mixture? (Please answer step by step, thanks a lot=])
最佳解答:
Using n = PV/RT, we have: Mole ratio of gases: After/Before = (752 x 300/308)/(760 x 250/303) = 1.168 Now, suppose that the original mole fraction of ozone is x, then that of oxygen is (1 - x). Thus, after the conversion, since 2 moles of ozone can be converted to 3 moles of oxygen, we have: 3x/2 + (1 - x) = 1.168 1 + x/2 = 1.168 x/2 = 0.168 x = 0.336 Hence percentage by volume of ozone in the mixture is 33.6%
